A pair of twin brothers from East L.A. choose to live their lives differently and end up on opposite sides of the law.
"If you were looking for how many Latin American-origin superheroes there are in the movies, you could certainly count them on one hand. Directed by Ben Hernandez Bray (stunt double who, curiously, directed episodes of series like 'Arrow' and 'Supergirl'), 'El Chicano' seeks to be the answer to this gap in pop culture. The feature takes place in a Latin American community in Los Angeles, where marginalization and crime proliferate. Despite the fact that the movie takes itself very seriously (it's more 'Rendel' than 'Machete'), the script falls into the formula of superhero productions and there are some clichés of the representation of Latinos on screen. However, it is a first step in the right direction."
