"Shawn Levy, producer of the series 'Stranger Things' and 'Arrival', is one of the responsible for 'Darkest Minds', by director Jennifer Yuh Nelson (nominated for an Oscar for Best Animation with 'Kung Fu Panda 2'). The feature is also starring Mandy Moore ('Tangled') and Amandla Stenberg (Rue from 'The Hunger Games'). In other words, the production has strong credentials, especially for those looking for teenage dystopian dramas - although, unfortunately, the story ends up delivering more of what we have seen in other films of the genre."
