""Was wir wollten" ist die Wahl Österreichs für den Oscar als bester fremdsprachiger Film 2021. Dieses Drama behandelt ein sehr delikates Thema: die Schwierigkeiten, die ein Paar beim Versuch hat, Kinder zu bekommen. Das Thema wird durch die Probleme erforscht, die die Protagonisten in ihrer Ehe aufgrund dessen erleben. Und die Situation verschlimmert sich, als sie ein scheinbar perfektes Paar mit Kindern kennenlernen. "Was wir wollten" ist eine interessante Produktion - das Drehbuch hat einige Probleme, aber die starken Leistungen und die hervorragende Regie retten es."
