Cosas de hombres

"It's the Chilean remake of the Mexican movie 'Do it Like a Man' (in an almost identical equivalence to that between 'Una Mujer Sin Filtro' and 'Sin Filtro'). 'Cosas de Hombres' is a simple comedy that highlights the frank ignorance that usually exists around sexual diversity, as well as the double standard and intolerance of conservative sectors of society towards those who identify outside of the heteronormative spectrum. It's a well-intentioned movie that, on the one hand, manages to show a possibility of acceptance thanks to one of its secondary characters, who accepts the homosexuality of his friend without much fuss. On the other hand, 'Cosas de Hombres' focuses on its most problematic character, even producing empathy for him in a series of situations with simple humor and various cliches that certainly provoke some laughs, but also trivialize the central conflict."
