"Just like in 'National Treasure', star Nicolas Cage sought to reach a younger audience with 'The Sorcerer's Apprentice'. It worked: the movie, which rode the wave of successes like 'Harry Potter' and repeated director Jon Turteltaub's signature (from 'Shark Tale' and 'Last Vegas Trip'), brought magic to a playful and fun universe while telling the story of a powerful wizard (Cage) who, to fight a great enemy (Alfred Molina, wonderfully cartoonish), ends up recruiting a normal young man. But of course, he ends up having powerful hidden powers and becomes a sorcerer's apprentice. And so, without great surprises, the movie reveals itself as a very pleasant entertainment for all kinds of audiences looking for a light, pleasant and not exaggerated story. There are intrigues, lots of magic, interesting special effects. And the main thing: there is a visibly excited Nicolas Cage conjuring spells and, once again, fighting evil."
