A social and political portrait of a post-revolution Cuba through a beautiful love story. Two young artists met in the 80s and despite a lot of prejudice and obstacles, the couple stayed together for more than 35 years.
"This delicate Cuban documentary has a purpose similar to the recent Netflix film 'Secret and Forbidden': to show a love story surviving through time, despite prejudice and adverse situations. In the case of 'La Música de las Esferas', the focus is on the story of an interracial couple in Cuba in the 1980s. With delicate and affectionate direction, filmmaker Marcel Beltrán (of the good 'Digna Guerra')--son of the couple portrayed--shows how love can be an effective weapon in sensitive moments. The aversion of the wife's father to the marriage, the displeasure of neighbors, and the loss of friends are among the topics addressed. However, just like in the Netflix documentary, love ends up taking the main space and making the film, in some way, a love letter that transcends generations and serves as an inspiration to all who watch it."
