An aging soccer fanatic faces down the reality of his past while struggling to give himself and a young follower very different futures.
"The problem of fans using football as an excuse to fight is not just from Brazil. The issue is also strongly felt in Italy, a country that has a passion for the sport as strong as ours. In 'Ultras', first-time feature director Francesco Lettieri dives into this universe, with its peculiar moral codes. The film also touches on issues such as the growth of neo-fascism in this type of environment. It should be noted that in countries like Italy, "ultra" is the term used precisely for the most fanatical fans and those linked to themes from all corners of the political spectrum. The pace is fast, helped by a good soundtrack, although the story lacks deeper character development."
