A teenage boy must deal with his mother's complicated response after his father temporarily abandons them to take a menial and dangerous job.
"Starring Jake Gyllenhaal ('The Vulture' and 'Brokeback Mountain's Secret'), this American drama addresses issues such as motherhood, parental abandonment and various issues that, because the story takes place in the 1960s, sound totally current. Special mention for Carey Mulligan’s ('Mudbound') performance, which was highly praised by critics. Director Paul Dano, in his debut in the post (before he acted in several films, from 'Okja' to 'Little Miss Sunshine'), also does a great job."
