Referencing such touchstones as; The 1st Kansas at the Civil War Battle of Honey Springs, Black Wall Street, Clara Luper's sit-in at Katz Deli, and Ralph Ellison's novel "Invisible Man". While Oklahoma still finds itself on that long road, the state has made strides through the African American mavericks of today.
