Why watch this film?
A high executive is asked if she'd like to be the first female CEO in a water company, ruled by the government. But she'll not be the only one running for the job. She'll face some hard and dirty competition.
"A movie about misogyny, equity and diversity. The production is able to address these themes in an interesting way, showing that cinema can make much better use of female characters and actresses - as is the case with Emmanuelle Devos ('Kings and Queen'), in a role that earned her a prize nomination for Best Actress from the César, the French Oscar. 'Number One' brings a portrait of what it's like for females in positions of power, which are mostly occupied by men."
