Bottoms

"One of the great surprises in cinema in 2023, with an authorial and female empowerment atmosphere, Bottoms is a film about a group of girls in school who create a fight club, previously portrayed with testosterone by David Fincher in Fight Club. Here, the characters create this space not to unleash the desire for violence, but to impress other girls and thus, perhaps, integrate with the cheerleaders and escape bullying. It's a simple film in its essence, but it features a creative and daring direction by Emma Seligman (from the excellent Shiva Baby), who also gives room for its protagonist, Rachel Sennott, to create on screen and bring authenticity to the plot."
