Everybody Loves Jeanne

"If you like romantic comedies, but don't want to see the same old thing, try 'Everybody Loves Jeanne'. French filmmaker Céline Devaux's feature debut tells the story of Jeanne (Jeanne Mayer, #TeSigo), a cynical woman who, deep in debt, must travel to Lisbon and sell her recently deceased mother's apartment. On the way, she reunites with Jean (Laurent Lafitte, El origen del mundo), a schoolmate whose eccentric personality clashes with hers. In other words, 'Everybody Loves Jeanne' starts off like so many other romantic comedies: with a story of opposites attracting. But this movie goes beyond that, becoming a duel of worldviews, one cynical and the other optimistic, which can become something even more beautiful. With a chaotic visual style, it is certainly different from all the romantic comedies out there."
