The Vigil

"Supernatural horror movies with demonic themes abound, so it's always refreshing to present a different approach. That's what The Vigil achieves, a frightening horror movie with an atmosphere based on Jewish demonology. The story follows a man who has left his insular religious community, but is contacted by his rabbi to be the "Shomer" (the person who watches over the corpse of a deceased person) of one of the community members. However, as he begins his vigil, he soon realizes that something is very wrong with the deceased. While it isn't a game-changing movie, it is one of those proposals that makes the most of its small budget, achieving better results than many other movies of its kind."
