Convicted felon Jimmy gets early parole after serving twelve years for armed robbery. Upon his release he vows to give his girlfriend Annie, who is dying of cancer, the best last year of her life. But when Jimmy gets into a freak accident that puts him in the crosshairs of local crime boss Whit Price, he must stop at nothing to save Annie and fight for whatever time they have left.
"Thanks to the series 'Ted Lasso', Jason Sudeikis has become one of the darlings of cinema and TV. In 'South of Heaven', however, we have the actor acting in an action drama. In the feature film, he plays a man who has spent 12 years in prison and now wants to give a dignified farewell to his childhood love - who is terminally ill with cancer. With great twists - including Sudeikis in action scenes - this is a movie that needs a lot of attention because a lot is happening between the lines. The cast also features Evangeline Lilly (from 'Ant-Man and the Wasp')."
