On an unusual day, a series of coincidences lead Eduardo to meet Monica at a party. A curiosity is aroused between the two and, despite not being alike, they fall madly in love. In 1980s Brasília, their love needs to mature and learn to overcome differences.
"Based on the song by Legião Urbana, 'Eduardo and Mônica' is one of those romances that we watch with a smile on our face, from beginning to end. Much of this success is concentrated in the emotional and accurate performances of the duo of protagonists: Alice Braga as a determined and somewhat controlling Mônica and Gabriel Leone as an ingenuous Eduardo starting life now. With a makeup job worthy of note, the two have chemistry on the screen and make the audience root for the definitive union. There is also director René Sampaio light and loose in command of this story, providing moments like the beautiful scene involving the song 'Total Eclipse Of The Heart'. And look how the setting played against it: 'Faroeste Caboclo', another adaptation of a Renato Russo lyric and also commanded by Sampaio, did not have such a positive reception. In addition, the song about the love between the "16 year old" boy and the "Leão girl" who "spoke German" could sound too obvious, with too much sugar water. But fortunately, the movie is a pleasant surprise. To get emotional and let go."
