Seth and Evan want nothing more than to lose their virginity before they head off to college. To do that, though, they need to get liquor for the big party that night. With the help of their friend Fogell, a.k.a. McLovin, and his fake I.D., the three of them go on a hilarious chase for that elusive booze, dodging incompetent cops, angry neighbors and jealous boyfriends.
"Directed by Greg Mottola ("Adventureland: A Memorable Summer," "Paul") and co-written by Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen (screenwriters of "Pineapple Express"), "Super Cool" (more commonly known by its original title, "Superbad") is a teen comedy that manages to balance the typical vulgarity of high schoolers with truly authentic moments, resulting in a movie that, even if it doesn't hold up so well under modern scrutiny, is still absurdly funny, or at least enough to be one of the best comedies of its kind. Partially inspired by the teenage experiences of its screenwriters (the protagonists are named Evan and Seth), the movie follows two outcast teens with only one goal for the last party before college: illegally score alcohol and have sex, though it turns out to be easier said than done. "Super Cool" is also relevant for marking the takeoff of several now-known Hollywood actors, particularly Jonah Hill in his first leading role, and both Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Emma Stone in their respective film debuts."
