Why watch this film?
While in Florida on another case, FBI agents Helter and Lombardo cross paths with state cop Crawford, who’s investigating a string of female murders that appear to be related. Lombardo and Crawford team up for an undercover sting, but it goes horribly wrong, plunging Lombardo into grave danger and pitting Crawford against a serial killer in a twisted game of cat and mouse.
"It can be said that the years 2020 and 2021 have not been kind to Bruce Willis, who has chosen roles in some truly questionable films like 'Die Hard' and 'Space Threat'. Unfortunately, 'Midnight in the Switchgrass' only reinforces this bad season of movies on the star's resume. After all, Randall Emmett's (producer of 'The Irishman' and 'Silence') feature film tells a story that seems to be a rerun of something we've seen dozens of times on the big screen: an FBI agent and a Florida officer join forces to investigate a series of unsolved murder cases. With Willis on autopilot, there are no big surprises in the story or, at least, good moments to highlight -- even though Megan Fox, Willis' co-star, tries very hard. However, 'Midnight in the Switchgrass' can still be a good entertainment for those who want a tailor-made thriller, just to pass the time, with all those formulas we've seen in the movies. After all, sometimes we just want more of the same, without the need for surprises."
