Based on the namesake book, the movie follows Peppino, an old hit man in a '70 Naples, forced to come back in action by the murder of his son. This tragic event also arises reflections on life and on the society in all the characters.
""5 is the Perfect Number" is based on the graphic novel by Igort, pseudonym of Igor Tuveri, who also directs and scripts the film. In fact, this is his debut as a director. In the story, a retired assassin decides to go back into action to avenge the death of his son. Yes, the plot is reminiscent of John Wick, but it came out much earlier, in 2002, and only now has it been given a cinematic version. An interesting fact is that the film only got off the ground thanks to the protagonist Toni Servillo, who insisted that Tuveri adapt his creation. "5 is the Perfect Number" manages to be dreamy, temperamental and quite graphic. The cinematography is very faithful to the graphic novel and ensures a great audiovisual experience."
