1899. The fates of the women in two families become entangled when the Soareses, former land and slave owners, request help from Iná, a woman of African descent they once dismissed due to religious differences.
"After partnering with Juliana Rojas in the exceptional 'As Boas Maneiras', filmmaker Marco Dutra moved on to a new partnership with Caetano Gotardo ('Seus Ossos e Seus Olhos') with 'Todos os Mortos'. The tone of the production remains the horror of everyday life, but now with another focus: the slave and colonialist aspect of Brazilian society. Not nearly as good as Gotardo and Dutra's last films, this feature follows the day-to-day life of a high society family in São Paulo at the time when the economy begins to undergo an intense transformation due to the end of slavery. Extremely limited performances and some shoddy technical aspects hamper the plot, which still has a script that can even make you yawn during some moments. The salvation of the film ends up being the ending, with a contagious twist and that awakens reflection. But from a movie starting from Gotardo and Dutra, no doubt, much more is expected."
