"Amazon Prime Video has partnered with production company Blumhouse to launch a collection of horror and suspense films on its platform. 'Evil Eye' is one of the releases. Directed by Indians and telling the story of an Indian-origin family, this suspense draws from the culture of this Asian country to speak about the threat of a marriage. In this case, a mother (Sarita Choudhury) believes her son-in-law is the reincarnation of an old boyfriend who tried to kill her in her youth. The beginning is promising, but the film soon takes on somewhat exaggerated tones, annoying those who like darker, slower-paced suspense films with their feet on the ground. However, those who want to venture into different stories with influences from cultures other than American can find a good refuge here. Although, it should be said, it is not an incredible movie or the highlight of this partnership."
