When the nuclear power plant of Fukushima is hit by an earthquake and a tsunami at the same day, the thread of an explosion is hovering. Even with the danger of contamination, engineers will risk their lives to avoid a huge disaster.
"Based on real facts, the movie follows the employees responsible for dealing with the collapse of the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant after the Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami in 2011. 'Fukushima 50' is a serious view of the disaster and ends up functioning as a warning for what happened, and how the city recovered from it. In addition to the tragic event, the story also focuses on a family drama that fits into the situation. The feature is well produced and has good performances, with a special mention to Ken Watanabe - very famous for acting in Hollywood productions such as 'The Last Samurai', 'Inception', 'Batman Begins' and others."
