Why watch this film?
When aspiring musicians Lars and Sigrit are given the opportunity to represent their country at the world's biggest song competition, they finally have a chance to prove that any dream worth having is a dream worth fighting for.
"With a look reminiscent of the most iconic music videos from Swedish band ABBA, the feature film 'Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga' is yet another of those strange but hilarious comedies starring Will Ferrell ('Anchorman'). Making an unusual pair with Rachel McAdams ('About Time') and directed by David Dobkin (of the drama 'The Judge'), the movie seeks to make fun of a strange and curious musical duo entering a global music competition. It's an uncomfortable film, largely due to the dozens of embarrassing situations, reminiscent of the farce 'Sliding Doors' or even the aforementioned 'Anchorman'. However, it is worth noting that the film also has interesting moments from the competition itself, which should appeal to an audience more attuned to musicals and with emotions on their sleeves."
