Matt and Kate buy an isolated house. While moving, they discover a strange room that grants them an unlimited number of material wishes. But, since Kate has had two miscarriages, what they miss the most is a child.
"Mixing a Stephen King story with the essence of a 'Black Mirror' episode, the feature film 'The Room' is a suspense with little traditional airs. The main plot shows a couple going to live in a distant, even somewhat luxurious house. Everything goes well until they discover a hidden room. And contrary to expectation, no ghosts, like in 'The Forgotten Room'. What they find there is an "entity" that materializes any wish spoken aloud. Money? An original Van Gogh painting? Drink? Everything at just one request. From there, director Christian Volckman (from the animation 'Renaissance') modulates the feature film in tones of science fiction, terror and thriller, without ever losing the thread. In the end, when the idea of the script exceeds its limits, it is decisive. Some viewers will find it absurd. Waste of time. Others should get excited and even cheer for a sequel."
