Play or Die

"Similar to 'Truth or Dare', 'Escape Room' and 'Nerve: A Game Without Rules', the horror 'Play or Die' is one of those movies made to watch in a group, eating a big bucket of popcorn. After all, even though it scares, this Belgian production wants more to entertain and play with the amazing possibilities of an unlimited game. It's an updated 'Saw'. The debuting director Jacques Kluger commits some slips, typical of someone who still doesn't have experience, and ends up giving an exaggerated artificial air to some situations that could be, in fact, scary. But this mix of fun, horror and even suspense ends up creating a curious atmosphere. You can laugh, be scared and be entertained."
