"Based on the best-selling novel by author Eva García Sáenz de Urturi, 'El silencio de la ciudad blanca' is a rather basic crime thriller in terms of its screenplay, directed by Daniel Calparsoro (director of the acclaimed 'Salto al vacío'). The feature will certainly remind some films such as 'The Silence of the Lambs' or 'Se7en: The Seven Deadly Sins' due to its ritualistic murders, plus it has an action touch in its chase scenes. Putting all this together, we have a movie which, at least visually, is very impressive. The characters fall into some clichés, which can be forgiven thanks to the good performances of Javier Rey, Belén Rueda (Goya winner for 'Mar Adentro') and Aura Garrido ('A Pele Fria')."
