Why watch this film?
Spending the summer at a Catskills resort with her family, Frances "Baby" Houseman falls in love with the camp's dance instructor, Johnny Castle.
"Timeless classic, 'Dirty Dancing' may be the best of the crop of 1980s and 1990s movies involving music, dance, and romance -- there's also 'Flashdance' and 'Footloose'. In the plot, a girl (Jennifer Grey) goes with her parents to a holiday club and, there, ends up getting involved in the world of dance with a more than charming instructor (Patrick Swayze, at the peak of his career). Fun and exciting, the feature film hits not only on the chemistry-filled romance between the two characters, but also has some of the most memorable scenes of the 1980s cinema: it's hard not to get excited with the final dance or the rehearsals full of second intentions. In the end, you live a roller coaster of emotions with these characters, hoping they can stay together while also getting excited with the soundtrack."
