A Date with Destiny

In Glasgow, Scotland in 1950, Ian Hamilton, Kay Matheson and Gavin Vernon developed a plan to take back the Stone of Scone, aka the Stone of Destiny. As students from the University of Glasgow, they spoke with other members of the Scottish Nationalist movement in order to devise a plan to pull of the heist. The stone was being kept on display in Westminster Abbey in London, England. A few days prior to Christmas, they set out to steal the stone and bring it back to its rightful place in Scotland. This short film delves into a snippet of the planning process and assembling their team to acquire the stone. Additionally, Alan Stuart helped them with this heist, but he wasn't involved in the planning process. (Alan is not present in this film, just mentioned.)
