Nightbitch

"Nightbitch is an adaptation of the novel of the same name by Rachel Yoder, directed by Marielle Heller (Can You Ever Forgive Me?). The plot follows an exhausted mother (Amy Adams) who spends her days at home taking care of her baby while her husband (Scott McNairy) works. Things take a radical turn when, suddenly, she begins turning into a dog at night. Yoder's novel and Heller's screenplay offer a fun and biting twist on the werewolf myth, commenting on the profound changes and pressures, particularly those, that come with motherhood. It's a trippy and wild premise that Heller doesn't fully capitalize on, remaining stuck in a lukewarm middle ground. However, Amy Adams’ performance is, as always, sensational. Even if the concept feels a bit strange for your taste, the lead performance is well worth it."
