When a group of friends discover how to conjure spirits with an embalmed hand, they become hooked on the new thrill and high-stakes party game — until one of them goes too far and unleashes terrifying supernatural forces.
"With a much more captivating rhythm than Relic but far better achieved than Smile, Talk to Me is a solid independent horror offering that shares with these films an approach to complex topics related to mental health. Here, the story is about Mia (Sophie Wilde in an incredible performance), a girl who can't seem to get over her mother's death, has few friends, and whose relationship with her father has deteriorated. During a night of partying, she volunteers for a dangerous game involving a mummified hand that allows one to communicate with demons, and she becomes addicted to the thrill. However, as can be expected, these games start to get out of control. Although its plot is predictable at times, the direction of the Philippou brothers manages to maintain a great narrative tension without falling into cheap jump scares, achieving a film that, in addition to touching on important topics, is highly entertaining for any fan of horror.
