Why watch this film?
Julie Davis, warm, kind, loving to her husband and child, is a bestselling children's author. While her books deal with unlocking childhood fears, she has yet to unlock the dark secret that has haunted her own life. But when her second child is born, events occur that bring that secret to the fore, and with it, a crushing, powerful battle to survive.
"In "A Mouthful of Air," Julie Davis (Amanda Seyfried) writes best-selling children's books about helping kids overcome their biggest fears. Yet, she still hadn't discovered what scared her until her first child was born. Thus, we have a very well done movie that manages to work well with postpartum depression. The story totally immerses you in an emotional rollercoaster. Amanda Seyfried ("Les Misérables") is impeccable in the role, delivering a very assertive performance since the film deals with a delicate subject. Only the participation of Alysia Reiner ("Orange Is the New Black") and Jennifer Carpenter ("Dexter") could have been greater, since both are excellent actresses and do not disappoint even with few minutes of screen time."
