"Bruno Gascon's second feature film, after the 2018 drama 'Carga', is 'Sombra'. The story is inspired by the disappearance of 11-year-old Rui Pedro in 1998. Even two decades later, he remains missing. 'Sombra' tells a narrative that focuses on this and many other cases of missing children in Portugal. This is a heartbreaking movie, due to its subject matter and Ana Moreira's outstanding performance. 'Sombra' may be a bit slow, but the topic it addresses is so important that any issues with the script and editing take a back seat."
