When her son mysteriously falls ill, Laura will have to decide how far she is willing to go to protect him from the terrifying forces that try to kidnap him and that were present in their past.
"A horror movie about Laura's (Andi Matchiak) love for her sick son (Luke David Blumm) and her relentless search to find a cure. No doctor can identify what the boy has and the mother soon realizes that it may be linked to a religious cult. Director Ivan Kavanagh ('The Canal') does a great job of constructing the story, with elements of the occult, religion and mystery. The narrative - even though it is in the supernatural spectrum - manages to escape the usual. Matchiak's (‘Halloween Kills’) performance is excellent, as well as Blumm's and Emile Hirsch's, who plays detective Paul, one of the few trying to help Laura. 'Son' has good twists and an interesting ending, at least."
