"Movies about choir competitions, such as 'The Choir' or even 'Sister Act', usually have an upbeat atmosphere: the music is goosebump-inducing, there are good stories of overcoming and so on. However, 'Our Ladies' follows a different and somewhat unusual path. Directed by Michael Caton-Jones ('The Jackal'), the feature film follows a group of girls from a Catholic school in the 1990s in Scotland who have the opportunity to go to Edinburgh for a choir competition. However, instead of focusing on singing, they decide to take the opportunity to drink, party and flirt. Fun and with good moments, 'Our Ladies' manages to escape some genre clichés and, to close, still bring memorable and personality-filled characters -- stand out for Abigail Lawrie (from 'Tin Star') and Rona Morison ('Solo: A Star Wars Story')."
