Why watch this film?
Zhenia, a Russian-speaking immigrant, works as a massage therapist in Poland and becomes a guru-like figure in a community where her privileged clients live.
"Slow and introspective film coming from Poland, 'Sniegu juz nigdy nie bedzie' is an unusual fable about a masseur who gradually gains the status of a guru in the city he lives in. Without haste, directors Malgorzata Szumowska and Michal Englert (both from 'Em Nome de...') bring elements to this typically European story, but also with the fantasy, coldness and strangeness that Polish cinema has provided audiences in recent years. It's a shame, however, that the lack of purpose of the film as a whole and of the protagonist makes 'Sniegu juz nigdy nie bedzie' lose some of its strength throughout its duration, disappointing those who expected a story as strong as 'Guerra Fria' or 'Ida'. A good film to pass the time and get to know Polish cinema better."
