""Cuernavaca" is a strong and shocking movie, despite its overly slow pace that may turn some people away. It tells the story of Andy, a young boy whose life changes overnight when his mother is involved in an accident. Now without anyone to take care of him, the boy is forced to move to Cuernavaca, the home of his paternal grandmother (Carmen Maura). This is when things in the movie get strange, even a bit experimental. While the grandmother does everything to keep him away and hide many secrets, the boy comes into contact with the gardener's son, who is as attractive as he is dangerous. Special mention goes to Maura's (‘Matador’, ‘A Lei do Desejo’) and Emílio Puente's good performances, who manage to get the most out of their characters even in Alejandro Andrade's experimental direction. And beware: you have to be in the mood to watch the feature film."
