After spending a few years in prison, Pedro finally is granted a prison reprieve to spend Mother's Day with his family. He relives old feelings while silently planning an escape from prison.
""Detour" tells a story that is already familiar in the film industry, but its construction gives the movie an air of originality. In the plot, we are introduced to Pedro, a young man who is serving a semi-open sentence - he can work and study outside of prison, but must return to the penitentiary at night - and manages to get a pardon to spend the holidays with his family, in the countryside of ParaÃba. The protagonist's crime does not enter into the discussion of the film, which shapes an image free of judgments of the character; we know that it is very easy to form an opinion about someone if we have information about their past beforehand. In this context, we follow this story that brings good reflections on what people in Pedro's situation go through and how the marginalization of society - specifically after you leave prison or serve a sentence like the protagonist's - can be even worse for those who have already been convicted."
