Why watch this film?
What would you do if one day a newborn baby was put on your hands and said: take it or leave it.
"Interesting Estonian film that, on the surface, seems just like another drama about parenthood. After all, the plot follows a 30-year-old construction worker who gets urgent news: his ex-girlfriend, whom he hasn't seen in six months, is about to go into labor. However, she isn't ready for motherhood and, if Erik doesn't want the baby either, the little girl will be put up for adoption. From there, he sees the need to better understand how a baby "works," with all its needs -- and, no doubt, many of them showing the lack of parental care in raising it. However, 'Võta või jäta' quickly reveals itself as a drama about loneliness, parenthood, and self-discovery, always with a provocative and bold direction from Liina Trishkina, accurate in her ideas."
