"In the 1970s, Portugal's history was truly tumultuous politically, with much struggle for democratic rights. Here, in 'Snu: The Love Story That Changed Portugal', the viewer follows this backdrop as the ornament of a love story between Sá Carneiro (Pedro Almendra) and Snu Abecassis (Inês Castel-Branco). Would this just be a romantic story that takes advantage of History to happen on the big screen? Nothing of the sort. Director Patrícia Sequeira shows how this romance affected Sá Carneiro's political career, founder and main face of the Social Democratic Party in Portugal. A beautiful film, well set, and with some truly inspiring moments, albeit too slow."
