Pieces of a Woman

"Awarded at the Venice Film Festival and screened at the Toronto Film Festival, 'Pieces of a Woman' was one of those rare unanimous decisions about its quality in this festival circuit. And it's no wonder. After all, this feature film starring Vanessa Kirby ('The Crown') and with a great supporting performance by Ellen Burstyn ('Requiem for a Dream') hits the mark when talking about a woman who loses her baby and has to deal with unexpected grief. Marriage goes wrong, relationship with family deteriorates, she can't smile. There are several variables placed delicately on the screen by Hungarian director Kornél Mundruczó ('White God'), who is lucky enough to have a female screenwriter (Kata Wéber) by his side for the construction of this feminine and particular drama. A mix of 'Manchester by the Sea' with 'Marriage Story', which should make tears roll whenever the credits reach the end. To see, feel and be moved."
