Fabiana, a trans woman, lives as a nomadic truck driver all over Brazil for more than thirty years. Now she is approaching retirement and should leave behind her adventures on the road.
"The debut director, Brunna Laboissière, brings a different look to LGBTQ+ cinema, which usually focuses on breaking down prejudices. In 'Fabiana', we see the construction of an affable portrait of the trans woman who gives the film its title. Far from seeking an identity, the film wants to talk about Fabiana and not discuss her social identification. The documentary was part of the selection of the Rotterdam International Film Festival and also of the 43rd International Film Show in São Paulo. Laboissière not only assumed the direction of the film, she also signs the script, sound and photography."
