"Unusual and competent suspense by Dennis Bots, 'Vals' is adapted from the acclaimed homonymous book by Mel Wallis De Vries. A mix of thriller, horror and suspense, the feature film questions the limits of friendship - and trust, as a consequence - when talking about a group of girls who decide to spend time together before the final exams. However, with the disappearance of one of them, the connection between the girls is blurred, questions begin to arise and the weekend turns into a real drama. Although the outcome and the development of some situations are somewhat predictable, it is interesting to note the good development of Bots (from 'Jogo da Vida') and how the film genres end up mixing in a breathtaking plot."
