Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey 2 is the unlikely sequel to the feature film that placed the characters of this playful and childlike universe into a world of violence and horror. However, don't expect a production as weak as the previous film: with the success of the first installment at the box office, the production had more money to invest, and thus Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey 2 manages to be more realistic, violent, and impressive compared to the first film. The characters' masks are much scarier, and it ceases to be a complete joke. It's still difficult to take the film entirely seriously, especially with this bizarre premise of Pooh and his friends seeking bloody revenge, but you can already feel more fear and, above all, immerse yourself in the wave of violence that the film promotes. To have fun with friends.

MaXXXine is the conclusion of director Ti West's X Trilogy, starring Mia Goth. The story continues in 1985, six years after the events of X, with Maxine Minx now a star in the adult film industry, trying to transition to "mainstream" cinema. Simultaneously, a figure who knows about her dark past tries to blackmail her and thwart her plans, while a serial killer is loose in Hollywood, claiming the lives of several sex workers and actresses at the height of the "Satanic Panic" of the Reagan era. With vast references to film history, the third movie in the trilogy successfully grounds themes introduced in and its prequel, Pearl: together, the three parts form a triptych that analyzes the moral schizophrenia of American society and culture, with female fame existing in the constant tension between prudish conservatism and misogynistic exploitation.

House of Spoils is a horror production from the acclaimed Blumhouse studio, starring Ariana DeBose (Oscar winner for West Side Story) as a young and ambitious chef who opens her own restaurant in a remote house. However, she soon has to face not only the typical chaos of a kitchen but also her own doubts... and a sinister presence that seems to inhabit the house. DeBose is spectacular as the disturbed and erratic chef, in a somewhat uneven script that doesn't always land its ideas. It’s not Blumhouse's best film, but it's thematically interesting and well above your average, cheap-scare horror.

Longlegs is a horror thriller directed by Osgood "Oz" Perkins, known for works like Gretel & Hansel. Set in the 90s, the plot follows an FBI special agent, Lee Harker (Maika Monroe, from It Follows), whose mysterious clairvoyance leads her to be recruited for the case involving the titular serial killer (Nicolas Cage). The investigation, however, leads her to uncover a sinister secret rooted in her past. Longlegs maintains a contemplative, slow pace, creating dark, oppressive, and hypnotic imagery to forge a disturbing atmosphere that echoes its themes of deep moral and familial corruption. The script weakens starting in the second act, and Nicolas Cage is as polarizing as ever. However, Perkins offers a sensory experience that departs from cheap thrills and mundane jump scares (and which is much more impactful in a movie theater).
