Loaded with tension and suspense, this is one of the best thrillers of the year. With a well-developed script and a great twist at the end, 'The Silencing' brings a fluid, well-tied story with the great performance of Nikolaj Coster-Waldau ('Game of Thrones'). The movie tells the story of a father whose only teenage daughter was kidnapped and since then he lives isolated and fills the existential void by saving animals and drinking more than he should. Coster-Waldau, even though he has played a difficult character in 'Game of Thrones', is quite charismatic, which makes the viewer root for him all the time.
