Despicable Me 4 may seem like an excess in a franchise that has already established itself and, at the time of this film's release, already had three movies about Gru and company, two about the Minions, and many, many shorts. However, the film serves almost as a closure to the story, showing the new paths of this quite dysfunctional family when Gru welcomes a new family member: his son, Gru Jr. Additionally, while dealing with the little one, things get challenging when a crime mentor escapes from prison and vows revenge against Gru. A film with a simple, fun story that should excite children -- and not so much adults.
