A Colombian singer's rise to fame is overshadowed by accusations of murder
Why watch this film?
This documentary chronicles Diomedes Díaz’s rise as one of Colombia’s most iconic singers, and his downfall after being accused of killing a fan.
"Diomedes Díaz was one of the greatest legends of music in Colombia, becoming a reference for cumbia and vallenato. Nicknamed "El Cacique de la Junta," he was a constantly controversial character full of light and dark moments, between struggles with drugs and alcohol, as well as legal problems. Because of the nature of its protagonist, 'Diomedes: The Idol, the Mystery and the Tragedy' is a documentary with the virtue of portraying a very important side of Colombian culture, while at the same time not going too deep into the life of its subject. That said, it is a film that will leave fans of Colombian popular music or those curious about one of its greatest references satisfied."
