Why watch this film?
It's hard to surpass a first movie, but 'Paddington 2' manages to be even better than its predecessor. Completely breaking away from Hollywood standards, we embark in yet another adventure of the British bear - and the story goes much beyond that. With a smart script, a beautiful visual construction that fills London with colour and vividness, and a charismatic protagonist, we find the ideal formula for a great movie. It may sound a bit cliche this description, but we guarantee it works really well! It is not by chance that the production has 100% positive reviews and critics on Rotten Tomatoes - the same level occupied by classics such as 'The Godfather' on the site.

Paddington
Created by Michael Bond, Paddington Bear is already a pillar of British children's literature, having appeared in multiple books and animated series since 1958. However, his jump to the big screen wouldn't come until 2014, with the first adaptation that tells the origins of the little bear in the depths of Peru and his arrival in London, where he is discovered at Paddington Station by the Brown family. With a candid acting job from Ben Whishaw as the voice of the protagonist, plus a cast that includes Sally Hawkins and Nicole Kidman, Paddington is a wonderful adventure movie suitable for the whole family, with a tender message about accepting those who are different from us, as well as about the true meaning of family.

Wonka
Rarely have I been as surprised in cinemas as with Wonka. Nothing, absolutely nothing, excited me about the movie: the idea of creating an origin story for the character from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, as if it were necessary; the promotional material, which always featured scenes bordering on the tacky; and the choice of Timothée Chalamet for the role itself. However, the fact is that director Paul King (Paddington) managed to turn this lemon into lemonade. The film not only entertains but also enchants. Although Chalamet continues to raise doubts about whether he was the right person for the role (I even think Tom Holland would be more suitable for the role), the movie's universe is wonderful: from the way it embraces fantasy in costumes and special effects, through the captivating characters (loved Rowan Atkinson's priest and Hugh Grant's Oompa-Loompa), to the film's message, which works for the whole family and brings hope in gloomy times.

Mufasa: The Lion King
Rafiki relays the legend of Mufasa to lion cub Kiara, daughter of Simba and Nala. Told in flashbacks, the story introduces Mufasa as an orphaned cub, lost and alone until he meets a sympathetic lion named Taka—the heir to a royal bloodline. The chance meeting sets in motion a journey of misfits searching for their destiny and working together to evade a threatening and deadly foe.

Thelma the Unicorn
A fun and tender animation directed by Jared and Jerusha Hess, creators of cult classics like Napoleon Dynamite and Nacho Libre. In fact, Thelma the Unicorn shares similarities with these films: its plot follows the titular pony, who dreams of being a singer but is underestimated due to her size and appearance, despite her talent. Her life changes when, due to an accident with paint, glitter, and a carrot, she adopts the appearance of a unicorn and becomes a sensation. It’s a simple, uncomplicated story that, through the usual expectations of the entertainment industry (appearances over talent), conveys a message of acceptance and self-esteem.
