"Second feature film of Chinese filmmaker Bi Gan ('Kaili Blues') is a true work of cinematic art. 'Diqiu zuihou de yewan' is a lesson on how narrative structure, editing, depth of field and camera movements, used in alternative ways, can provoke completely different experiences for the viewer: the fragmentation and surreal logic of a melancholic dream, as the first half of the part; or the deep sense of reality, as the second. The latter is still an admirable technical achievement, as it's a one-hour long take (originally filmed in 3D), as if to challenge '1917'. Presented in the Un Certain Regard section of the Cannes Film Festival and awarded in the Asian circuit, the feature film is a melancholic hallucination about a lost love that you won't soon forget."
