Why watch this film?
In 1985, Boris Becker amazed the world. At 17, he won the prestigious Wimbledon tournament, one of the most traditional tennis tournaments in the world. Even more impressive: at 18 he was a two-time champion, and by 20, a three-time. In 1992 he added one more victory: the other Olympic gold in doubles. His meteoric career has since faded, and few people in his homeland even know his name today. This documentary attempts to understand Becker's trajectory, which went from being a sensation worldwide to ostracism after becoming embroiled in tabloid controversies and tax problems.
