Parachute marks the directorial debut of Brittany Snow, praised for her work on the short film Milkshake. The story follows two best friends who navigate the thin line between unconditional love and dependency. Ethan (Thomas Mann) has recently been released from prison, and Riley (Courtney Eaton) has just come out of rehab. How do they face the world and keep their love alive? Is it even possible in such a situation? Alongside Snow's delicate and inspired direction, we witness strong character development from Mann and Eaton, blending romance and drama in equal measures—and inevitably bringing viewers to tears.

Plot summary

In Parachute, Riley (Courtney Eaton) is a fun and energetic young woman, but struggles with an eating disorder and body image issues. Ethan (Thomas Mann) is a once-promising musician in the end of his 20s. The two meet and just “click.” To Ethan, all of Riley’s flaws are beautiful, and he wants to help her see herself the way he does. Riley adores Ethan and is inspired by his talent and selflessness. Their relationship is a balancing act between their love for each other and their combustible personal issues. But they truly feel like soulmates and the world makes sense only when they take it on together.
