Why watch this film?
Twisters, as its title suggests, is a sequel to the classic 1996 movie Twister, and while its plot does not have a direct link to its predecessor, it essentially tells the same story, with some changes and updates. Set in the present day, the plot follows Kate (Daisy Edgar-Jones, Fresh), a meteorologist disillusioned by a past tornado tragedy, living in New York with a desk job. However, when she returns to Oklahoma to assist a colleague with tornado experiments, she meets Tyler (Glen Powell, Hit Man), a charismatic YouTuber who gets in her way. Although not a film that really offers anything innovative (if you saw the first one, you've seen this new version), the disaster sequences are spectacular, and both Edgar-Jones and Powell deliver excellent, emotive, and fun performances.

Plot summary
Twisters brings back the blockbuster disaster epic with a whirlwind of heart-stopping action and exhilarating thrills. Ever since a devastating tornado encounter, Kate (Daisy Edgar-Jones) gave up chasing storms across the Oklahoma prairie to safely study them on screens in New York City. Lured back to the field by her friend Javi (Anthony Ramos) and a once-in-a-lifetime scientific opportunity, Kate crosses paths with Tyler (Glen Powell), a charming daredevil and self-proclaimed tornado wrangler whose thirst for tornado-tracking adventures made him a social media sensation. As storm season intensifies with terrifying phenomena unlike anything seen before, Kate and Tyler realize they may need to work together if they are to have any chance of taming, and surviving, an unprecedented outbreak of destructive tornados.

Minari
Director Lee Isaac Chung is the son of Korean immigrants and grew up on a farm in the American countryside. This context makes 'Minari' even more interesting. The film tells the story of a Korean family from South Korea looking for better living conditions in North America in the 1980s. This may not be an innovative plot, but the delicacy of the production makes it unique. The cast is impeccable - especially when we talk about the young actor Alan S. Kim, who brings a shine to the screen every time he appears, and Yuh-Jung Yong, who plays the grandmother (and was nominated for an Oscar for her performance). 'Minari' discusses cultural, family, religious and ancestral values in a very natural way. The symbolism of the title of the film is very strong, since they go to the United States to succeed in life and what saves them are their Korean roots. In addition to the nomination for Yuh-Jung Yong, the film is competing in five other categories at the 2021 Oscars, including best film and direction.

Mission Cross is another film from South Korea that proves the country's strength in action cinema—with great effects and breathtaking scenes. In the story, a hardworking househusband and former special forces officer is hiding his past from his wife, Mi Sun, who is a violent crimes detective. However, things go awry when a mysterious woman appears and claims that Kang Moo, the protagonist, is not who he seems to be. From there, we follow a film with well-crafted action scenes, accompanied by a good dose of comedy to break the tension.

Saving Bikini Bottom: The Sandy Cheeks Movie is yet another animated film that marks Netflix's bet on the SpongeBob SquarePants universe. In the plot, Bikini Bottom has been stolen. Sandy Cheeks and SpongeBob watch in disbelief as everyone's favorite city is taken out of the ocean by a sinister and mysterious company. Now, the two must embark on an epic journey to Sandy's home state of Texas and enlist her family to help save Patrick, Squidward, Mr. Krabs, and the rest of the gang before time runs out. A somewhat naive movie, without bold or risky stakes, but one that entertains in this return to the SpongeBob universe in theaters. Perfect for young children.
